Encounter the beautiful, rugged environment that is available for discovery before you in RiME. Made with the third person view, the character in the game is a young boy who has is on an abandoned island. The player has to control him in this adventure-puzzle video game to experience marvelous feats it contains.

The player has to more than a dozen of various environmental puzzles to clear and move ahead in the game. Many puzzles are based on the use of perspective and might require a change in view to solve them. In the game, there are several triggers that lead to events tied to statues present nearby. In order to activate them, the boy has to shout or sing.

The character can easily run, walk over, carry and push or pull across the landscape of the island. With the exploration of the island, the boy recollects all the memories that tell how he ended up washed on this strange island. There is a tower at the center of the island, which individually shows the five stages of grief.
